Proposals & Closing
1Qualify before proposing
A proposal should follow discovery. Confirm the problem, desired outcome, decision process, scope and realistic budget range.
2Lead with the client’s situation
Summarize the problem and objective in the client’s language.
3Define the proposed solution
Explain what will be delivered and how it addresses the agreed need.
4State scope clearly
List deliverables, responsibilities, exclusions, dependencies and assumptions.
5Define timeline
Provide realistic milestones and expected completion time.
6Present pricing clearly
Explain the fee, payment schedule and any recurring charges. Avoid hidden costs.
7Explain success measures
Agree on practical measures such as response time, workflow completion, lead handling or content output where appropriate.
8Reduce uncertainty
Explain implementation, support, revisions, communication and what happens after approval.
9Ask for the decision
Closing means agreeing on a next step. Ask whether the proposal addresses the need and what is required to proceed.
10Follow up
A proposal without follow-up can become forgotten. Record the decision date and next action in the CRM.
